End of summer beach conditions in Florida--

Just checked in yesterday on Pensacola Beach for a week-long trip extended family trip paid for by my mom and stepfather. Water quality is the worst I have ever seen it; looks like my gumbo z'herbes or diarrhea, seaweed is SO bad. Took a side trip to Big Lagoon today to ride waverunners; beaches on Perdido were clear.
Any other reports?

Destin to PCB look good. From Gulf Shores to Navarre it is always a crap shoot. Spend the extra bucks, drive the extra hour, and improve your odds of great water.

In Destin right now. Beach is fine. The weather has been nice. No seaweed No complaint’s at all.
Just getting back from Cafe 30 A. Fantastic.

Went last weekend.
Navarre was a mess on Friday
Saturday afternoon in the east end of Destin was perfect
Sunday morning in Pensacola beach east end was decent… still had some not nearly as bad as Friday.
Go check out one of the springs. We went to Morrison Sorings on sat morning and it was nice

In southeast Florida, it is a crapshoot from beach to beach. Some beaches have tons of Sargassum, and others have very little. It's caused by wind conditions, I've been told.
I went to the beach that allows off-leach dogs, and there was some seaweed, but I could basically step over it. Other beaches have so much seaweed that you have to step through 10 yards of it to get to the water. It stinks, when you have that much, as well...
They won't rake it during sea turtle hatching season.

Looks like Destin is clear.

After some pretty disappointing weather and water in Pensacola....I got on the panhandle's "LIVE BEACH CAMS" and drove to the nearest one with clear water. (The Back Porch in Destin.) Well worth the drive! Gorgeous!

This morning it had cleared up quite a bit, but wave action stirred it up again.
It's all pushed up to the beach. You can go out to the clear area, but you need a boogie board or other flotation method, because the water is about 12 feet deep when it's clear of seaweed.
