Can’t speak on hikes. But Trinity library and the book of Kells was cool if you into that sort of stuff. I greatly preferred Jameson distillery over Guinness Brewery. Temple bar is their version of Bourbon Street.
It was our last leg of the trip and didn’t venture out of city center. I’m sure others can suggest the Irish country side.

About a thirty minute Dart/Bus ride from the center of Dublin is a coastal fishing town called Howth. The bus will drop you off right outside (or if you take the Dart, it’s a five minute cab ride to) a place called The Summit Inn. Grab a pint and some lunch, and right nearby there’s the Howth Cliff Path Loop. It’s super easy to get to/back from, the views are amazing. We literally did it yesterday.

Read my stickied trip report above- I discussed a great seaside hike starting in Bray and how to do it. Just 30-45 minutes from central Dublin on the DART. It’s great scenery and easy to access and it’s tradition to eat at the Happy Pear in Greystones afterwards.

My wife and I just returned from spending the day in Howth and could not have had a better time. Thank you so much for posting the recommendation!
