Have you ever driven the A22 between the Brenner Pass and Verona? There is a metal barrier on the inside median the entire length of the route. The barrier is less than 6" from the white line. I was mentally exhausted after that stretch of road.
Otherwise, it has beautiful scenery of the Italian Dolomites and apple orchards.
I was cruising in the right lane and passed someone that was stuck in the left lane. Everyone started blowing their horn at me like I was the one that did something wrong. Even the car I passed was admonishing me for doing so. I guess I should have gotten over behind the car in the left lane and waited for him to move over.

I'm in Europe now and have taken several Uber rides through various cities and it is rudder chaos with all the pedestrians, bicycles, scooters and motorcycles all doing whatever the hell they want. I would not want to deal with all that. Plus I usually have been drinking so if I was driving that would be a no no.
Driving through Europe right now and just like USA driving in hwys and countryside is easy. Driving in the towns is a major pain in the arse lanes going in different directions, unclear markings, and parking is terrible.
As bad as the driving its still better than lugging your luggage via public transportation through city centers. That looks like a major CF!
Oh and a big FU to the cop who got to my car 30 secs before I did and gave me parking tix for a barely expired meter. Max time at meter was 3 hours. fricking racket!

I will say there left lane vs right lane etiquette is a "wet dream" for the OT!

Att has $12 a day fee for $10 days not sure what happens after 10 days. It automatically turns on as soon as you arrive in country and turn your phone off airplane mode.
Don't forget your adapters for cell phones and other electronics.
