I've been traveling to nyc frequently for work and need a solid hotel option. Interested in various places in the city.

The Benjamin.
Near St Patrick’s , diagonally across the street from the Waldorf Astoria.

Where are you working? I stayed around Times Square (I know,
) so I could walk to Penn Station (where the job was) if I wanted to, since that activity happened twice a day.
The W near Times Square was my choice for a long time in that particular area. After I was told to move to a cheaper hotel, my #1 criteria became whether I had control of the A/C and heat or not. FML, having the entire building switch to heat with windows that don't open is misery.

I used to stay at the Lexington a fair amount. Marriott, good service, close to Grand Central. And usually decent rate. Rooms are small, even for NYC.

I like the Lexington. Hotel 48LEX across the street isn't terrible.

I think the migrants have commandeered that location.
Booked solid for the foreseeable future.
