How quickly will the walk back I wonder? And people have figured out how to get the AMEX platinum card and then add their 10 best friends and they share the fees and reap the rewards. If AMEX Platinum is the most popular card AMEX has to see what is going on but they are happy to collect card fees.

It's just to get heat off them. The CEO confirmed that they went "too fast" but this was the end result in features they wanted. So this program setup will remain.

Today Delta announced a rollback on the changes. There will still be more limitations and higher barriers to status, but not as severe as initially announced.

Some really fascinating things in the announcement. As of now I am about $1500 shy of Diamond. I may burn some vouchers to keep it. I have 500k MQMs right now so the ability to essentially get Diamond for a few more years is a solid deal for me.

Changed just enough to get me to keep the delta plat card. Was about to swap to venture after the end of the year.
