Can someone suggest some fun things to do with kids in Dana Point? We'll be there next week for two days before heading to LA for the Rose Bowl.

Thanks!

How old? Is there still a Legoland out there? The SD Zoo isn’t far. Maybe a day trip out to Catalina.

Thank for the reply. Catalina looks fun.

We only have one full day in Dana Point/Laguna Beach so want to stay in that area and not drive anywhere.

Laguna is great. Nice little town to walk around with restaurants and shops. There’s a little area of beach there too. Don’t know what it’s called, but right up the road from LB there is a place on the side of the road that serves burgers, ice cream, shakes, etc. Kids would probably like it.

The mission famous for the swallows of San Juan Capistrano is just south. I enjoyed the visit.

I would just walk around any or all of Laguna Beach, the harbor at Dana Point, San Clemente, and San Juan Capistrano. All great, relaxing spots that you all will likely enjoy just visiting.

Can't offer specifics but my brother used to live in San Clemente and our corp office (we worked for same company) was in Mission Viejo.

It was 20 years ago, but GD, every meal I ate was shrimp tacos and they were the greatest meals. Nothing but little restaurants that probably require a 2 week prior reservation now since no one has enough staff.

Not sure if it’s “whale season” but if it is , a whale watching trip is absolutely worth it . Plenty of trips that leave from Dana point harbor.

There's a nice point break there the ex presidents used to frequent.

Lol seriously the surfing is good there. Monarch Beach Resort is also really really nice.

I used to live in San Clemente around 5 years ago. DP is fantastic. Things to do: dana point harbor baby beach/stand up paddle boards, go to ritz laguna and get sunsey drinks at 180 blu (awesome views), go to pizza port san clemente (great beers), go to nicks in San clemente or laguna (no corkage on first bottle per 2 people), go to Las ramblas hike, check out happa j's hawaiian and or order the man fries (pork loaded cheese fries).

I'm the broader socal area, visit the zoo safari park in north county, visit some breweries (belching beaver/ballast point are good times), visit the aircraft carrier museum in San diego, check out Crystal cove shake shack for an absurd view and decent milkshake/burger, and do plenty of stuff outside.
