Possibly looking at doing a cruise out of NOLA in late October. Looking at Carnival, but I have concerns about the culcha that may be onboard. Which is the better ship/cruise line there? Any suggestions appreciated.

I’ve done quite a few aboard Carnival Liberty which is what’s there in October . Def do the W Caribbean 7 days trips. Actually two diff itineraries available. Pick the one u want and enjoy. The 7 days have a better chance of being more mature respectful group. Have fun.

If I'm doing a cruise out of NOLA and had to choose between Carnival, NCL, and Royal Caribbean, I would be picking a 7-day NCL or RC. Full transparency I have never sailed RC but have done a ton of NCL cruises (have status) and really enjoy that line.

I have taken the NCL out of New Orleans and it was fun. I would take it again.
I have enjoyed the Carnivals too but the last one was about 25 years ago.

The crowd is significantly better since Carnival tried to dissuade the usual suspects. Longer itinerary is better for sure. If you do Nov instead you will have access to Royal Caribbean and Norwegian as well out of NOLA
ETA: I just sailed the Liberty of Mardi Gras and had a great time. We are booked for RC over Easter next year also, but that won't help you

Carnival Liberty is the trick on a 7day outta N.O. Was a very good experience for us all and it was a large family trip with absolutely no complaints. We went to Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel.
We normally cruise with RC outta Galveston. The Carnival ports arent as nice as RC and the vendors arent as pushy. The Carnival casino slots are pretty loose which paid us pretty well and offered follow up discounted offers on future bookings.
I saw allmof that that to see this. I would do it on a seven day or longer like has been mentioned above.
I like 2/$3 ice cold beers so have 6 for me LOL

They literally stop at the same places in the Western Caribbean. In fact, Carnival’s port in Cozumel and Mahogany Bay are much much better.

No they dont. In Cozumel they do not have the same shopping areas.
Royal Caribbean in Cozumel has a Margaritaville and Senór frogs.
I don't remember what carnival had there but it wasn't worth one shite IMO
As far as what is in Honduras, I haven't taken a royal Caribbean cruise there only Carnival.
ETA: yeah they stop in same vicinity but the places you shop arent the same incase I read your post wrong. Honduras was the most expensive with Belize next and Cozumel cheapest for shopping.

Don't go shopping in port right by the cruise ship docks. Worst prices and crap stuff ever. Take a taxi to the actual town. It's pretty cute with a town square.

We go drink beer, eat and buy shirts for grandkids.
Maybe catch some sun and thats the jist for us.
Not cooking and cleaning and driving and all the shite you do at home.
Relaxing even of its on the boat.
Note: On Carnival spend money in their casino. They do send some good offers and the slots(we played pennies)are really loose.
