So what you are saying is if she wants you to be trashy, you go trashy, lol.

Not sure how I am obsessed with you from two threads now, lol. Apparently I live rent free in your head.

I know many on this board and other places view Carnival as the "trashy/WalMart" cruise line. I never felt or saw this on the three cruises I went on Carnival out of New Orleans. (all three on smaller boats like Elation and Triumph).

My fiancé and I booked a last minute cruise on the Triumph for my birthday. We went on the 27th. The ship was old, the staff was great and service was excellent. However, I'm pretty sure T-bob and his family saved for 10 years to go on that ship. Holy shite at the level of trash.

We witnessed a grown woman and her two teenage daughters fight with a staff member because they got caught taking pictures of pictures. Plus, that ship goes to Progeso. What the frick is Carnival thinking going to an industrial port that is poor as frick. No lie, one of the excursions was to go to a church and volunteer.

I've been on six cruises with various lines, and there are several that are in no way trashy. Jackolope probably can't afford to go on half of them.

Im saying that your criteria is skewed.
Im saying you do care, even thought you said you didn't.
I'm saying that it's ignorant to say something or someone is trashy based on so little information.
I'm saying that there are cruises that arent trashy and going on a cruise does not mean someone is trashy and assuming such is presumptuous, often times unfounded and inaccurate.
Im saying that if my daughter wants me to whip and nae nae on the steps of the Taj Mahal I'd probably do it if it made her laugh.

It has been good while it lasted. I was wondering how long it would take

Monetarily I easily can, but my pride and self worth would take a huge hit. Love seeing the white trash on this board defend cruises.

I'm saying it's hilarious you have to defend yourself so hard from people on the internet calling you trashy. Classic try hard.

You know man, this board was a nice place to discuss travel, til you two turned it into the SEC rant

This entire thread topic is discussing the trashy reputation of Carnival. Is this not exactly the proper place to have such the discourse of what is and what is not trashy in regards to cruising?

Maybe you would prefer if you just came on, speak your word as gospel and nobody disagree. So long as everyone agrees with you, you're all good. Blowing something off, paying the troll card and saying someone else takes something too serious is weak. You've been acting like you don't care for over an hour but you can't walk away. You're entire shtick is exposed.

You either want to discuss the trashy stigma Carnival and cruises have in general or you don't, but don't say you don't care, engage others in a conversation then try and play it off like theyre being unreasonable and you're just laughing and having fun. Its as transparent as my windshield.

I was hoping you were wrong about this. The travel board is/was the only board I enjoy going to anymore mainly to avoid crap like this. Rather than a board basically built upon tearing people down I saw some real positive opportunities to learn and help people in regards to travel.

These two clowns basically just gave up any credibility they thought they had on this board.

One because it was for my gf more than anything, and I'll never do it again. It was a Seabourn cruise out of Rome to Greece.

What was trashy about it?

Nothing trashy about Seabourn, but it's an older crowd.

We're trying to find that mix now...next year is kinda jammed up (Disney in January, Allure in May for niece's graduation and a trip to South Africa for the wife and I in September) but in 2019 our daughter will be 9 and am looking at options for a Med Cruise, British Isles or maybe a river cruise. I know those itineraries are real port intensive but I think our daughter can handle a good bit of activity. The key for us is going to be to pick the right cruise line.

Yea okay bud. Do you have any idea how much it costs for two adults to go on an Oasis Class Ship, let's say Harmony of the Seas, and book a balcony room or suite? probably more than you make in 2-3 months.

What did you expect from a thread about cruises and trashy? It's not going to be intelligent discourse.

I've called myself trashy in this thread, it's not really that big of a deal to have the label trashy. Why does it offend you so much?

Eh, I like discussion. This is fine with me, just think it's funny you try so hard to not be labeled trashy.

Only thing I have really said about Carnival being trashy was my first joke post where I was joking about it all being labeled trashy. The part I didn't care about was you talking about your vacations earlier. That had no impact on me in this discussion and was in your reply to my second post.

I quit sailing Carnival years ago. Only cruise Royal Caribbean now. No regrets.

My last cruise on RC last year was a disappointment. The ship itself (Liberty) was amazing but we were the first sailing out of dry dock (new splash zone for the kids, two new slides, a lot of new crew, specialty restaurant additions/changes) and they had a few kinks that weren't really worked out.

We had a blast, don't get me wrong, but it was the first time I got off an RC ship and didn't know if I'd be back anytime soon.

Don't go on the cruise and worry about other people. Just enjoy yourself and your traveling companions and all will be ok. And don't forget to smuggle your hooch!

I used to stick up for Carnival in these threads however after cruising with them before and after the Triumph incident that line has taken a huge step backwards.

DCL is the best IMO. Been on most of the major lines to compare. I would never recommend a short Carnival cruise to anyone. 7 day cruises on newer ships are OK on a budget but lately I would just say try a different line especially your first time since Carnival is more likely to appease any bias you have against cruises.

Hell most of the cruises I go on are way more expensive than land based trips. My last cruise was 3x more expensive than my trip to La Romana. I find most people that make the statement that cruises are trashy have never been on one and make an annual trip to Destin and or Gatlinburg every year.

I took my family on a Triumph cruise a couple years ago. It wasn't bad. Food was good, Guy's burgers were good, kids liked the pizza, Cozumel was fun and I enjoy the "third world" Progreso port
