How often do you plan to leave the resort to go into town?

Sandals st Lucia was the best value we found. Didn't want to go crazy on cost but wanted it to be worth it. Same amenities as the bigger islands but much cheaper.

Where are you coming from and how often are you leaving the resort?

Reason I ask is we've been all over, and yes the carribean is awesome, but we went to a 5 star resort in Playa and the convenience of everything you just can't beat for us.

2 hour direct flight. At our resort in 40 minutes and never a need to leave. No jet lag, layovers, time zone difference.

Ours was adults only and some of the best service and food I've ever had.

How much do you want to spend, how long to stay and are you looking to do activities? Also, have you dont a all inclusive before?

We are going to relax without kids. I hope my itinerary reads like this:
Wake up
Eat
Beach
Eat/drink
Pool / beach
Eat
Drink
Sleep

I'm going to suggest that you find a nice resort with a great restaurant and other great restaurants around it and stay there. Then you aren't eating at the same freaking places every day.

We've stayed at The Alexandra Resort on Providenciales, Turks & Caicos several times and had a blast every time. It has an excellent restaurant on site with beach service and there are several great restaurants within walking distance down the beach or a short cab ride away.

Oh, and it's on Grace Bay Beach.

This water, for miles and miles and miles.

Posted this in the other thread but...

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Spent six nights there with the fiance, around $2200 for both of us, included airfare and upgrade to the "adult" side (which only meant no kids and premium liquor.)

We are headed to el dorado royale casitas with four other couples in May. We've been there twice and love it. It always gets my first recommendation.

Would you recommend this place for a 4 day weekend get away? Thinking about this place. I've been to Karisma's Azul Beach resort, but looking for an adults only place.

Yes I would--when we got together with the other couples, we all looked at videos and pictures of other recommended resorts and each time, the group came back to el dorado and agreed it was the best choice.

I've done Catalonia Royal Tulum (adult only) resort, small but nice. In a jungle setting, so kinda secluded. Got a 6 night stay, round trip air for $1100 per.

Heading to Punta Cana for the 1st time this summer - Majestic Colonial Club - adult side, swim up room for $1300 per.

With that thought, it will be very hard to beat Punta Cana or Riviera Maya.

Iberostar Grand Bavaro in Punta Cana is excellent. It is adult only, not super crowded and very nice. Has 6 restaurants and there are two other sistering resorts that you are allowed to eat at. You can really mix up the food. Ive been here 5 times and loved every second of it.

Excellence in Punta Cana is also very nice. Relaxing, quiet and the food is very good.

For Mexico, Secrets Maroma Beach is very nice. Good food, no kids and top shelf alcohol. I did a trip report on this last year
