Going to South Africa for a week and a half right after thanksgiving. I’m looking for recommendations in both cities for restaurants, bars, must see/do. TIA.

Stay in Cape Town as long as you can and try to limit your time Johannesburg.
Sorry I can’t provide more detail, but a quick observation after spending 2 weeks over there a few years back. Also if you can squeeze it, try to book a safari

Will be spending the majority of time in Cape Town. May have to overnight in Johannesburg 1 or 2 nights depending on how my flights go.

Joburg was cool.
Go see Nelson Mandela’s childhood home . Pretty neat sight.

Cape Town is amazing. Try to get a table at La Colombe - amazing dining experience. Would skip J-berg and try to squeeze safari and 2 nights in stellenbausch (sp?) if you enjoy wine country - stunning views.
