Buying 2 1st class and 2 coach tickets plane travel

Anybody have any experience buying 4 tickets for two different classes of seats in one transaction?
We want to sit up front but have the kids sit in the back. Do we have to use two devices, and simultaneously book two sets of tickets? Looking at several different sites and I am not sure how to do this on any of them. Its not like they allow you to select a class for each ticketed passenger individually. Any advice appreciated.

Just make sure in the mad rush to get to the airport, you don't leave one of the kids at home, alone...

Book over the phone and they will set you up. Or just do it in two separate transactions, are you worried the flight will be sold out before you are able to book the second set?

If the kids are old enough to travel alone per the airline's regulations. Do the following:
1. Book one reservation with the two kids in coach
2. Book one reservation for the two adults in the front
3. Call airline and link the record locators so in the event of any issues they can handle them all from one.
If one, or both, of the kids are too young to fly alone without an adult per their rules...
1. Book one reservation with one kid in first with an adult
2. Book one reservation with one kid in coach with an adult
3. Call airline and link record locators.
4. Have the adult take the kid's seat in first when boarding.

Yeah as said, book it in two transactions and then call the airline to join them.

Yes my concern is after we book two seats the availability/price changes before we book the second. I was wondering if anyone ever did this in a single transaction. The kids are almost teens. We will book one adult/1 child with both purchases.
Our daughter wants to bring a friend to Italy. We told her if she wanted to trade a seat up front we would buy her friend a ticket.

The chances of this happening are slim to none. You are talking about 1st class and coach, the pricing and availability are not directly affected for one. 2ndly you are talking about the matter of like 5 minutes between transactions. Doubtful anything happens, especially anything major.

I’ve booked my kids’ tickets that were not associated with an adult, severel times actually. They had an adult flying with them, but not on the same reservation. It was domestic travel if that makes a difference.
Off topic, but I find it crazy how little info airlines require for kids to fly. All TSA does is ask their name. I think they should have some type of photo ID at a minimum.

How old were they? It varies by airline but some ticketing systems will automatically deny the reservation if they are under the age limit to travel alone.

Eh. TSA’s job is to make sure whomever is trying to get through security and onto the aircraft is not bringing anything that could harm others or the plane. The identification of the person is incumbent upon the airline.

We do that. On 2 different devices. Worked fine. On the other hand I have booked from my phone and my mom from hers both in the same class and hers gave an error. Mine went through and when she tried again tickets went up.

Youngish kids. Not teenagers. I’ve only done it on Delta. The only thing is the kids can’t Check In online. The adult they are traveling with has to check them in at the counter (I always book them main cabin so they already have seat assignments).

Call a travel agent.
They do it all and you do nothing.
