Looking for any recommendations for Bruges y’all have...might be a 1-2 night stay.
Part of town to stay in, things to do, restaurants/beer spots (kid-friendly is ideal), canal cruises, etc....all are appreciated

Jesus I think we are on almost the exact same schedule for our trips...
We are staying at B&B predeker. I believe this is on April 11.
My wife found it, looks great. Has a hot tub
Still researching restaurants and such.

Malesherbes was an excellent lunch spot.
City Center has a great beer tour/museum and tons of chocolate shops.
Favorite thing was renting bikes and checking out all the city gates over the waterways. Beautiful town.

Go to De Garre bar. Really good beer made there in the city center. It's a hole in the wall pub tucked down an alley. Blacked out there. Good luck!

Like places to drink or see?
-In the square you have the holy church that says they have a vial of the blood of christ.
- You also have canal tours
- They have a little pub with 8 beers that is near the entrance down a lonely street by where the church has the tree house looking things. Great beers and a bunch of locals to just chat with.
- They also have a fantastic chocolate place near the canals by the city center
- Torture museum if you want to see some medieval shite
- They have a brewery De Halve and Bourgogne
- The square is filled with churches, guilds, etc
- Drinking, La Trappiste, 't Poatergat, Bauhaus Bar, De Garre, The Beerwall, The Monk, De Kelk, Comptoir Des Arts

I can't remember much after getting plastered at De Halve so that's my only recommendation. Watch your head on the tour (old old stairs and low beams) and watch the quad as it'll hit you hard lol

They display the vial on a published schedule and you can file past it and touch it. I did this in the late 1990’s so maybe things changed. A small donation is expected/appreciates.

Whoen I went you could not touch it, not any photography. They still expect a donation as you enter, I know I got in trouble for filming the inside area even though I wasn't near the vial.

We stayed at the Hotel de Castillion, a fantastic little boutique hotel. We typically AirBNB, but we only were there for 2 days so this was a good option for us. Central location and great staff/amenities.
As far as things to do, we mostly just enjoyed walking around and admiring the storybook setting. There are a couple groups of old windmills we walked to outside the central city. Obviously, go to the top of the Belfry tower. It’s a hike up, but worth it. Get there 15 min before they open.
