Breckenridge Christmas 2022 - where to stay

Family of 4 making our first ski trip. Wife and kids (11, 10) have never skied, I am intermediate.
We are looking to do a family lesson at least one day and ski school for the kids as well.
I cant decide whether to stay at Peak 8 or 9. I don't mind paying for the convenience of staying right on the lifts, I am trying to make this as enjoyable as possible. Don't want to lug gear onto a shuttle etc. I found a nice VRBO at Peak 8, with a ski school on site, and a similar set up at Peak 9 for less $$.
I like that Peak 8 has plenty to do, but am worried it will be too much chaos for my kids/wife at ski school. Peak 9 (Village) seems a little more isolated and they may have an easier time.
Am I overthinking this, or would they benefit from easier runs at the Village rather than the chaos at Peak 8 base area?

My wife learned on peak 9 last year. We stayed in a ski in/ski out right off of Quicksilver. It worked out perfectly. There were so many easy runs to choose from over there without having to connect to the other areas.
For the more advanced skiers, it was easy to make your way across the mountain to the other peaks.

There's really no wrong answer.
I've stayed on Columbine rd before off of peak 9 and liked it.
I like peak 9 better for skiing.
IMO, the walk around the base area in street clothes is a non-issue.
Easy to get to and from everywhere.

You should be fine at either Peak. The skis go at either location will be excellent and fun for the kids. Pick the location that gives you the accommodations you like best.

We stayed at the Villages at Breckenridge. Nice place right at the Quicksilver lift. The ski school is right there and really convenient. Good restaurants and kids stuff within walking distance.
After your lesson you can walk to Burke & Riley’s for a few Car Bombs to take care of the soreness.

Thanks, I booked at Villages this morning. Like the idea of the ski school being right there. Looking forward to a few days on the mountain and a few days snowmobiling/tubing etc.
Found a good price on United and cashed in my flight credits.

Peak 9 is the correct answer. If you start feeling yourself and want to venture over to something tougher there are chairs that take you over to 8 and further but 9 is where we started last Christmas and it sounds perfect for what you need. Look into Main Street Station. They have some listings on Airbnb/vrbo/ vacasa/etc. it’s in a perfect location and didn’t break the bank for us. Breckenridge is great for a family trip !

Nvmnd I see you booked already. Good choice there right at peak 9. We did the ski school also.
I’m gonna have to find the snowmobiling /tubing excursion we did. It was over in silverThorne but not too bad a little drive. The cool thing about the one we did was the tubing hill that we did during the excursion. It was REALLY cool and steep and long. No tubing hill has compared ever since.

Awesome- that sounds like exactly what we are looking for!

Found the one we used. Highly recommend. The tubing hill was so badass we actually thought it was more fun than the snowmobile itself. The tubing hill that’s actually in breck kinda sucks. Check this tour out.
