Haven’t been since I was 11 years old. This will be the first time we will go skiing. What is the best area to go to in everyone’s opinion. Looking for a nice lodge. Good drinks and good restaurants!! Probably going around December.

Really can't go wrong, but my favorites are:
1 Vail
2 Breckenridge
3 Beaver Creek
4 Keystone

Snowmass is probably best for you.

It seemed affordable to me when we used to go to Crested Butte every year, my son goes to Aspen and Vail and from what he has said they were a lot more expensive than what I was paying at CB

What’s gonna be expensive. The lodge? Food and drinks? Skiing?

It all varies. Lift passes at each resort vary across the board. Lodging varies across the board depending on where you stay. It’s not an evenly sliced pie.

Are you bringing kids? Depending on the age different places could be more attractive if you have kids or if it is just an adult trip.
If you looking for best value, check the rates from around Dec7-14th. Rates jump drastically for lodging after the 14th. Sometimes you can get good snow other times not so much.
As said, budget is the main thing in determining where to go.

Vail and Aspen are steep if you are a beginner. The greens there are blues at Breckenridge and Keystone.

I think Keystone's blues have more pitch to them than Vail's.
Breck's lower half is far and away the flattest greens and blues in CO.

No A-Basin? Wtf?

I would not send anyone to A Basin that hasn’t skied in 11 years...

I shouldn't have skimmed OP. Thought we were just talking about the best places.
