What's the best Italian restaurant in the North End in Boston? Going for a concert in June and want a nice dinner before.

A more upscale place is preferred

Mamma Maria is the best food, but I wouldn’t consider it “upscale”

Giacomo’s is great but they don’t take reservations and there’s usually a line down the street to get in.

I also like Lucca.

Keep in mind that there aren’t really fine dining restaurants in the north end. It’s more small spaces with an intimate atmosphere and great food. So if fine dining is your ultimate goal id pivot elsewhere.

They are all priced like fine dining restaurants, however.

It’s Boston. The McDonald’s is priced like fine dining.

Ate at Trattoria Il Panino last weekend. It was quite good. Only one I’ve been to.

Regina's Pizza is the only affordable Italian food in the North End. You'll almost always wait a long time to get in, however.

But this thread was about fine dining, not good local pizza joints.

I just took my daughter to Aqua Pazza this past weekend. It is small, there were people in t shirts and flip flops as well as people in suits. We both really enjoyed the food. Easily the best Italian I’ve had outside of Italy. Aqua Pazza is right up the block from Paul revere’s house. That whole area feels like you can’t go wrong. Boston, in general, was so much nicer than I expected.
