bachelor party in Punta Cana this week

First time for all of us going to Dominican Republic. 8 of us baws are going to Hard Rock Punta Cana from Friday-Wednesday this week. I called the resort and they only provide transportation from the airport if you'll be staying at the resort for at least a week. Anyone ever gone to Dominican Republic know if cabs will take U.S. currency or if they have Uber there?
Follow up question is more of a longshot. Anyone ever stayed at this resort, Hard Rock Punta Cana? As I understand we get $1500 resort credit to use during our stay and it seemed like that's standard and I'm wondering if they'll let us use that resort credit to golf and also which restaurants are the best at the resort. I tried to book a tee time through their website and I did not see an option to use the resort credit. We will only be there 4 nights so want to make sure we don't accidentally miss out on some good eatin' too if theres any to be had here since theres 9 different restaurants.

No uber last time I was there and cabs were pricey. Excursions typically provide transportation to and from the resorts.

Damn I was really banking on Uber. I don't think the resort is close to the airport either, but maybe if we can find a taxi bus splitting fare 8 ways shouldn't be too bad.

Why?
Uber's website clearly states that they don't operate there.

You do realize that you can reserve all of this ahead of time, right?
The internet has all of your answers.

I think there are only about two or three hotels near the airport, everything else is far as hell. Also, you'll laugh at the fact that you even asked about Uber...just wait till you get on the road from the airport

There's a SHITLOAD of private transportation companies hustling at the PC airport.
Just book it online.

This. They aren't too pricey either. We were able to pre-purchase a cooler of beer/drinks for the ride to the resort as well.

I'd recommend you ALLOW a local to help carry your bag to your choice of transportation. you'll see a bunch of them waiting for you at baggage claim.
The guy we used helped us cut around a line of 50-75 people waiting to be checked out by one last security official.

went there last year. we had a really good time. the beaches and water there are nice. The people working the resort are super friendly and the resort itself is really nice and safe. The best restaurant there is the Hibachi. Also the little pizza cafe is solid. Most of the other food is pretty meh TBH. Not sure if they will allow you to use the resort credit for golf but I played there and the course was pretty nice. Pro tip: Throw a few sleeves of balls into your carry-on bag. Otherwise you'll have to buy balls there and they're overpriced.
There is some nightlife there on the resort, obviously, but I didn't notice a ton of single ladies running around. The casino is solid and it's got a pretty cool sportsbook. The tables are $20 minimums(FYI).
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the feedback fellas! I never tried booking a shuttle online ahead of time before and figured maybe Uber would be the simplest idea and wouldn't require planning ahead of time.
I went to goairportshuttle and found a ride for about $75 which seems fair enough. Is there any other particular site any of you would recommend?

That's pretty neat. Ive never been big on going to the casino but that's awesome if they allow sports betting, didn't expect that!
The only possible hiccup Im expecting outside of shite happens while were there is two of the guys are flying there a day early because they're frugal as balls and wanted to save a hundred bucks. They will not be able to check into the resort until the rest of us arrive the following day around noon.
Any ideas on how they can get out and avoid capture and being locked up abroad? They aren't too keen on just hanging out at the airport for 24+ hours waiting on us to arrive. I told them if they're going to leave to catch a cab to the resort but I have no idea what they should do from there. Neither do they other than bumming it on the beach with their luggage
ETA: Thanks for the hibachi and golf tip. We'll heed your advice on both of those.

Glad I came here with my questions. AirBnB was a great idea. They're looking at a place for $30 right now by the airport and calling Alberto. Can't believe they have places for that cheap for 1 night stay minimums haha. Place and neighborhood look perfectly fine too. Good job TB!
