Going on a bachelor party to Mexico City over labor day weekend. Was wondering if anyone had experience doing such trip in CDMX? I've been once but was with my wife and friends that lived there at the time, so didn't hit up the party scene too much.

I know we plan to eat at some good dining and hit up Xochimilco for a day of drinking on the water. I think pretty much up in the air besides that.

"Wife and her friends" yikes. I mean don't cross the narcos daughter. I suggest spend night praying in local chapel.

Book 2pm lunches at:

-Either Contramar or Entremar (sister restaurants with the same menu, just in different parts to town)
-San Angel Inn (kind of far from Roma/Condesa/Polanco but very worth the trip IMO, its an establishment)

Stay for 2+ hours and eat and drink everything on the menu.

Late night tacos are a must.

Get a party bus, and if you want to splurge, a local guide for the trip to Xochimilco. I recommend earlier in the day, its more chill, but just as much fun. If you stay too late in the day it can/and probably will mess up your dinner plans, especially if you have some heavy drinkers in the group.

Hydrate heavily before and on the flight there. Get plenty of electrolytes to drink before passing out and in the mornings. Mexico city is high in elevation= killer hangovers.

Oh shite I wouldn’t have ever thought about elevation.

That’s some damned good advice right there.

A lucha libre night at Arena Mexico would be a blast for a bachelor party. The crowd gets super into the matches.

Who the frick would want a bachelor party in Mexico City? That sounds awful. I’d be taking a hard arse pass on that.

Y’all are going to be drinking heavily in Mexico City.. one stupid drunk mistake could literally cost someone their life (whether murdered or thrown in jail for a decade for doing something petty and stupid)

It’s Mexico City. It’s nothing like the rest of Mexico. I’d feel less safe in New Orleans right now.

Went last summer, loved it. Weather was so much cooler than Texas, food was cheap, beautiful city. Definitely felt safer walking around than many US cities.

Great suggestion, but I would go a little earlier, around noon or 1pm, and plan on staying for 3 hours, maybe longer. Agree with you, tell them your plan when you arrive, order the whole menu, and they will keep the food and drinks coming and time will fly by.

I suggested 2pm because they hit their peak at 2-4pm. If you go at 12pm you'll be the first table of the day. Entremar and Contromar don't open until 12pm

Good point on the open time, its more a personal preference for me, eating lunch earlier allow me to have a light breakfast and also still be hungry for dinner. Either way its a great suggestion and a must do in Mexico City.
