Travelling to Asheville next week with the grown family. First time there. Going to Biltmore one day. Any must sees or dos? We're good for a short hike.

Grove Park Inn terrace for cocktails and or lunch or dinner
White Duck Tacos on the French Broad river in the arts district. I think they have other locations as well
You can drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway - lots of hikes accessed from the Parkway
North Carolina Arboretum is a nice place - plenty of short hikes there.

Lots and lots of breweries/brewpubs.

You will be one hour away from Bryson city which has a lot of outdoor activities suck as white water rafting, ziplining, and close to hikes in the Appalachian Trail

Mt Pisgah a nice hike, trailhead 45 minutes or so from Asheville via the Parkway
My favorite hike is Black Balsam Knob, not strenuous at all but a great panoramic view at the top (in good weather). You can go through Waynesville on the way back and they have a quaint downtown with a few brewpubs and restaurants.

The search function sucks on this site but if you google “Asheville Tigerdroppings” you’ll see tons of threads for Asheville. Asheville comes up at least once a month or more. There’s also a pinned thread at the top of this forum that includes Asheville.

Was there end of April and had a great time.
The beer scene there is absurd. Downtown area is easy to walk and has probably 10+ breweries in that area. I went to Catawba, Hi-Wire, Burial, Wicked Weed, Sierra Nevada and New Belgium. New Belgium is just outside downtown on the river, Sierra Nevada is about 15 min drive.
I was there for a wedding so only thing I ate outside of wedding events was Tupelo Honey and I enjoyed my food. Honey dusted fried chicken was nice.
As some else stated, Grove Park Inn patio is an awesome place to get drinks at sunset.
If you’re into the outdoors at all consider going fly fishing in the national forest. I went with a guide through Southern Appalachian Anglers and it was awesome. Caught a lot of fish and the scenery was beautiful.
