Visited Stellaris resort a few times over last few years. Mainly bc I’ve been able to get great deals through Marriott.

Each time I went was in September and I like I can bet on college football in their casino. Nice change of pace to wind down after the beach. Good dining options as well.

I love the water there. It’s like bath water. So warm and calm.

I went there a while back. I stayed in the Palm Beach area where the Hyatt, Hilton and Holiday Inn are. Pretty nice, standard Caribbean resort fare. Plenty of decent bars and restaurants. There's a karaoke bar on the end of a pier that's really fun and a popular restaurant in the area the serves good American food. Water comes from a desalinization plant so is safe to drink. It's easy to buy things you may need. Ocean is crystal clear and warm but very calm with no waves. Some people love that and some people don't.

A lot of Dutch tourists, as this is their island getaway. Drugs and prostitution are decriminalized so if you are out and about at night you will be solicited. Casinos seemed a little drab to me, but it might be fun to place a few bets as a beach bum.

There's a cheap and effective bus that travels the western road along the beach if you want to get around. The main city is nothing special and mostly caters to the masses getting off cruise ships for a few hours. Or you can rent a car and drive down to Baby Beach or over to the eastern coast which is a completely different ecosystem and feels like you are in a different part of the world. Other than that I would avoid the non-tourist areas as there has been an uptick in crime since the big oil refinery and shipping port shut down, which was a big part of their economy.

I spent a week in Aruba last year and went all over the island. I never got a bad feeling from the locals or the area. I grew up around New Orleans and have travelled all over the world and my urban radar is pretty good when it comes to that. Surprised to hear crime mentioned.

Really enjoyed the island and the people and recommend it as a vacation spot. Will be going back next year.

Stellaris

I just looked into this place, I had never heard of it before, but it looks legit. I’ve got a ton of Marriott points to burn.
When’s the best time to go price wise? When’s the best time to go weather wise?
Thanks!

We went in September each time and it was fine. Can’t compare any other time but I think the weather is fairly consistent.

Upgrade to the Tradewinds if you can swing it

Is that a different Marriott property?

No. It’s the “VIP” experience at Stellaris.

Private check-in, better rooms, access to club with free food, beer, wine all day, free cocktail hour daily, cabana access, discounts on all purchases, etc.

I did Aruba back in Feb. Spent 3 nights at the Renaissance Wind Creek and 3 days at an Airbnb next to Mango Halto Beach. We rented a car the last 3 days and really enjoyed driving around the Island. Renaissance has its own private Island with flamingos. We went to Eagle Beach and Baby Beach too. Do a ATV excursion.

My wife and I went in November a couple of years ago. Weather was great and we stayed in the Ritz. Marriott points work there. The Ritz hotels know how to hotel.

One of my top beach destinations for just relaxing and recharging. Have always stayed at one of the Marriott properties on Palm Beach. Very safe and lots of dinning options that are walkable. This year will be our 5th time. We don't do a lot of activities but the island tours always gets high marks.

Got married in 2019 at the Manchebo and have been back every year since. Great place, very low key. There are a few places to eat near by that are good. Santos for coffee in the morning is excellent. It's pretty quiet, so if you are going to relax it really can't be beat.

A coworker referred me to the RIU Resort in Aruba. She said that they have visited this place multiple times because they love the resort.
