The only thing I know about Aruba is that's where Natalie Holloway was killed.

I'm looking at a trip the second week of December. Any advice on the safety, atmosphere, and places to stay?

Aruba is incredibly safe. Very friendly folks and prices aren't bad. Wife and I got married there in 2019 and go back every year for our anniversary.

Where to stay - Depends on what you are looking for. The high rise area has a lot more tourists. We generally stay in the low rise area (Manchebo, Bucuti & Tara Beach resort, etc.) The low rise area is a lot more quiet.

We go diving every year, so if you are into Scuba it's a really nice spot. I've gone deep see fishing before and caught a few mahi mahis. Any other advice, just ask!

My wife and I went to Aruba in December several years ago and it was great. We stayed at the Ritz which was very nice. I would definitely go again in December.

Very safe, people are super nice, food is very good, prices are about the same as here at home. I stayed right in town at the hotel / casino and they had a private island with a boat taxi that picks you up in the lobby of the hotel. I think the hotel is the Renaissance? Highly recommend.

Wait service brings food and drinks to your beach chair on the island.

Hands down some of the best beaches I’ve ever been to. The sand is just perfect. Not super rocky. Water temp is like a cool bath.

We did some off-roading; got super dirty and loved every minute of getting to tour the north shore.

You can do the all-inclusive big resort or choose an Air BNB. Go with what you like.

Loved Aruba!! We stayed the Renaissance Wind Creek. You have access to a private beach with flamingos. We spent a few days there, then stayed at an Airbnb across from Mangel Halto for a few days. This area is quiet and away from the high rises. In addition to the private beach we went to Eagle Beach, Baby Beach, and Mangel Halto. Also, we did an ATV tour that took us around Aruba's northern coast. Highly recommend! Very safe island, rented a car and got around no problem. Can't wait to go back!

Aruba is very desert like, it's not tropical like most of the islands you think. We stayed at the Renn as well. Across the street is another Marriott property that is adults only. Great island. The island has a Dutch heritage so you can find some unique local foods too.
