LINK

right outside summit MS 1 hr from Hammond, 1.5 hr from BR, 2 hr from NOLA. Nice comfortable cabin on a pretty wooded and secluded lot, right on the river. Extremely dog friendly with a nice dog safe rear porch to stash them when you need to. Swings, hammocks on a shady bank right next to the river. River is clean and just deep enough to swim but shallow enough to hang out in.

easy to get to on a nice wide graded private road

highly recommend. It’s a fantastic weekend spot

Can't say I've ever thought about vacationing in Pike County, but that place looks pretty cool.

I’m on the porch right now having a morning cocktail watching the river. It’s pretty fricking nice

and zero hassle getting in, getting situated and getting out
my kind of place, 1 hr from my house

What a neat find. Would love to see more like that....I need some close-by spots on the water.

Can't beat that. Just under 2hrs for me. Saved it to my Airbnb list. Thanks

How's the river along that stretch? Wondering about kayaking upstream for a lazy float downstream.

current ebbs and flows I’m sure but it’s running pretty good right now.
plenty of water to paddle for sure

it’d be a nice workout upstream and a pretty float downstream. The cabin has two kayaks under the porch

Good call. Saving this for a quick weekend get away.

I want to own a piece of property like this badly if anyone ever comes across one.

yeah us too, but honestly rentals are fine. We’ve stayed at a couple more cabins in the general vicinity that we also really like, so we pretty much just rotate and fill up free weekends.

most of these places are pretty cheap considering how nice the properties are. Homochitto area and McGee Creek for example

Thanks for sharing this. Any snake sightings in/near the river? Would love to bring kids but that’s always in the back of my mind.

I want something like this (maybe I should start a different thread? not trying to hijack) but on the Guadalupe river, preferably on a slow spot right, anyone have any recommendations?

I regret to inform you that the river is outside and wildlife contact is always a possibility LOL

but no I didn’t see any snakes

People are more dangerous than snakes. Lol
Most you see are harmless anyway, such as water, chicken, snakes.

Nice cabin and we were looking for something pretty close to this but no wi-fi or TV is a deal breaker. I get the whole disconnect thing but we are looking for a cabin for my daughters b-day and it's during the weekend of an LSU road game I'm going to want to watch

Bump
Cgrand, either you or someone else had posted another small place on a river in central MS before this one a few years back. I thought I had book marked it.
Can one of y’all remember the place?
