Can you ski pros recommend a good resort or area for this time of year that has fewer people, has a few ski schools for kids, easy skiing for kids (prob will be doing a lot of green runs)? My kids are 16 and 10. I’m partial to CO, but will go anywhere.
My vote is Steamboat Springs, as much as I hate to say it because it is overpriced in my opinion.
Nevertheless -
Take a shuttle bus from Denver airport.
Free transport on city buses while in town.
SBS is really a family oriented resort - tons of learning and teaching opportunities.
SBS should have snow by then - white Christmas.
SBS be beautifully decorated at Christmas with a smidgeon more quaintness than Aspen/Vail type atmospheres.

Great week last week in Utah after a slow start to the season. Close to 4' over 6 days at most resorts.
Spent Christmas Eve at Brighton and got a few hours in at Solitude on Friday in a good storm. Hopefully more runs get opened up this week.

Need some advice on parking in Breckenridge. We have two minivans bringing 10 people in from Denver. We were just made aware that there’s only parking for 1 car at the condo we rented. I’m seeing conflicting info about overnight parking in Breck. It looks like I may be able to get 24 hour parking for $5/day at the airport road lot on weekdays and $10/day on weekends which is fine but I’m a little worried about leaving a car there all week. I guess we would move it around some and make sure it’s ok but is this our only option? Help appreciated thanks guys.

That may be your best bet, really. Breck is super anal about parking in general.
Speaking of Breck, already 12" total from this storm as of now and it's still coming down. My buddy there says it's nasty up top and he doubts the upper lifts open today. Surprised Falcon Chair is even open right now. I'm heading up early tomorrow from the city with some buddies to get after it. Hopefully they keep the upper lifts closed all day today so it'll be fresh up there tomorrow. Wind load will make it a lot deeper than what the official snow stake report will say tomorrow morning. We'll be there ready to go up once patrol gives the all-clear to start loading upper lifts. Looking forward to clicking in my powder skis for the first time this season.

When are you going? I have two trips booked, staying at VRBOs near Peak 9 and will not have a car. If our trips happen to be at the same time you can park it in the lot where I am staying.

Mardi Gras. We’re on 4 o’clock road so base of peak 8, so not far away.

Question for you guys who ski more than me:
Durango/Purgatory vs Salida/Monarch for a last minute Mardi Gras trip with the family. 2 experienced adults, 3 intermediate kids, 1 beginner 6 year old. 6 year old has been skiing twice but still learning to stop. lol
We have been to Monarch twice and Purgatory/Durango looks similar in that its not a big resort town. Just about done with the big resorts as long as I'm paying for 6 skiers.
We'll ski 4 days and mess around town for 2.
TIA

I’m pretty familiar with that area of Four O’clock Road. What complex are you in? Their management operation should be able to give you some advice.
For what it’s worth, I expect the Airport Road parking is one of your better options. But, I would certainly contact management.
Good luck. I hope y’all enjoy your stay. If you need any restaurant information or have other questions, please let me know.

Sunset Condos
We did contact the owners and they said only one spot. They didn’t give us specifics on where to park just that there are options.

Thanks. I know that location. They look to be nice units. But there is not a lot of parking there.
Get a permit from the town of Breckenridge

Just got done with a 5 day trip in the heli in Revelstoke. Some of the best skiing I've ever done. First tracks in waist deep powder every day.

Finally got my first day of the season in yesterday. Went to snowbasin and they opened the strawberry gondola for the first time this year and I was lucky enough to be one of the first ones on. Couldn't see shite but there was so much powder that you didn't need to. Great start to the year

Just pulled the trigger on an impromptu jaunt down to St. Anton am Arlberg next week (Mon-Fri).
Done my share of snowboarding in Austria, but never to any of the biggest name resorts, and by all accounts this place is supposed to be up there with the best of ‘em.
Only my second ski-trip in 10 years, excited would be an understatement.
Anyone who’s been got any hot tips?

Double post, so here's some Snowbasin pics from Friday. Hell of a day riding John Paul lift 10 times in a row

I went to St Anton in 2019.
I would recommend getting a guide and doing some hike-to terrain off piste. The private guides weren't crazy expensive ($300 / day I think).
Also be sure to ski down to Mooserwirt around 3 pm for ski apres. Skiing the rest of the way after dark was a memorable experience.

I'm 31 and have somehow never been skiing/snowboarding. Want to go this season. Any recs for a first timer + an intermediate? Extra points for nice lodging and ease to travel to. What days/dates do yall typically try to shoot for? Are ski-in/out joints worth it?

I’ve only been to Solden but if you’ve ridden in Austria before, expect the same.
Apres heavy, high alpine living.
