Nothing like the first day seeing a kiss of snow on the high peaks. Just a couple of months till we're watching for real storms.

FYI. Rip’s Ride lift in Breckenridge has been upgraded to a higher capacity, faster lift to improve Peak 8 access for the ski school area. It’s a nice upgrade for beginners and families.

Sweet. We are going to Breck Feb 18-26. Kids are taking ski school at peak 8. Have the Epic passes but didn't do the blackout days so will spend sat night in Denver and head to Breck on Sunday to ski the week.

Any good tubing places anyone recommends?

There are a few small tubing areas in Breck, but the best is the park in Frisco. Look it up and book a reservation...6 or so miles north back toward I-70.

What are some more things to do on off-days in Breckenridge? Have 4 young kids in our group and would like to do something to keep everyone entertained.

Dog sledding, snow mobile tours, sledding park in Frisco, theater in Dillon, horse-drawn snow sled tour at dusk, snow shoeing at the Breck Nordic Center.

Downstairs at Eric’s also has a bunch of arcade games,

Has anyone skied Breck in early April? Looking to bring the kids on their first ski trip and easter week is literally the only week we can do that. I know the higher elevations will still have plenty of snow, more curious about the lower areas with tubing and sledding.

You're not gonna like this answer.... but it just depends. I've been some times in mid April that were perfect after a fresh storm. And some times in early April that were slushy and 50 degrees. May the odds be ever in your favor.

My favorite time to be there is the first week of April. The snow is usually awesome.

Going to be here all winter this year. Looking forward to some late season skiing.

Shooting for at least 50 ski days this winter.

Not a bad look on the climate model ensembles that ran today. Some differences but the idea is generally whats above.

Should see a ridge center near or farther off the California coast. That position will matter a whole lot to how much snow the California mnts get.

Otherwise, you love to see a NW storm track showing up around the ridge. Would like to see this pattern actually materialize this winter.

Between the move, new house and new job it looks like I'll only get one trip this year. Maybe 2 if I'm lucky. Booked in Park City Feb. 23-26th if any of y'all will be around

Has anyone stayed at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge? I was checking out the reviews and some people are really trashing this place. I don’t mind staying at an older lodge (I’ve done it before), but I was curious how this place stacks up. Is it typical for an older lodge or is it really that bad?
