another option in CO is Copper Mountain.

Copper is great. The only thing I don't like about is it has multiple base areas. All runs at Steamboat come down into one area.

I've never been to Breck, but I know tons of people who learned to ski there.

Breck is excellent for first time skiers and family activities.

In practice a bunch of new skiers are just going to be doing everything out of West Village anyway.

Agreed Duke. I actually think the multiple base areas is one of the best aspects of Copper. Super Bee and American Eagle rarely get too crowded, even on weekends. Compare that to Steamboat, where the base can be a bit of a nuthouse.

Flying out to Park City on Sunday morning. Can't wait.. First time skiing since about 2004 when I was in high school.

Picked it up pretty quickly due to my skating rink experience, so hopefully its like riding a bike...

What are the odds my flight is delayed due to the weather? 8:00am EST Delta out of Atlanta.

There's a chance of significant impacts at ATL Sunday morning. Watching for ice storm in ATL, but its a big question of how far south into ATL area it gets. Its hard as frick to figure out for areas on the margins.

Stay tuned and be thankful youre not flying out of Charlotte.

I bought off rental ski gear cheaper than I could rent it for during my stay. Look into that. I always use to ski Keystone and stay in the forest area condos. Ten minute bus ride and you were skiing. They have daily bus trips to ski other resorts.

Can you fly out Saturday night instead? Delta just posted a waiver so you should be able to switch your flights for free. Atlanta does not do well with deicing or winter storms. And if duke is saying you may have problems sunday, I'd switch now

There's a 553pm or an 859pm flight on Saturday with seats

Unfortunately, that would not be an option.

Like Duke mentioned, I guess it will just depend on how far it creeps down into Atl.

I hope my flight is early enough to avoid the shite show, but I am not liking my chances right now.

You're on one of the earliest flights out so that should help, but I'd still be cautious of a potential cancellation. If it cancels make sure you at least get out of ATL Sunday morning, looks like the weather gets worse as Sunday goes on

Yeah, I was looking at that. A delay really does no good here.

It would either be a cancel or nothing.

Welp, fingers crossed at this point. I appreciate the responses here!

I think we’re going to hit up the back bowls at Copper tomorrow for the first time this year. We tried Resolution bowl a couple weeks ago, which was a lot of fun!

Great news, we're overperforming on the snow today. Gonna be nice and soft tomorrow. Looks like a perfect afternoon for me too.

I just spoke to a city worker in Breck, working from her home, and she said she felt like she was sitting in a snow globe. Ha. Enjoy.

Today is my first time headed up to Whistler, super excited. I'll have some more picture reviews over the next few days to add here

ETA: Got selected for mandatory COVID testing which will mean this is my third test in 3 days. You have to schedule a Teams appointment with a health specialist so they can view you take the sample then you either have FedEx come pick up the sample or go drop it off somewhere. FedEx doesnt pick up on Sundays and pretty sure the only other drug store for dropoff closes in an hour . Oh and they expect you to have a printer handy, need to print out the requisition form to ship back with the sample. Or you need to call fedex and get a pickup.
