Are you already in New Mexico?
Why not I70 corridor? Keystone/ABasin can be done on the cheap staying in Silverthorne, and flights into Denver are about as cheap as you can get flying into the mountains.

I'm coming from Baton Rouge. I'm not flying to Denver or doing any I-70 skiing.
Aren't all I-70 resorts north of $100/day now? That's absurd.

I'd say you could ride Loveland, ABasin, and Copper all for less $100/day if you plan ahead even slightly. Not on I-70 but throw Winter Park in there, as well.
Also check out Eldora near Nederland that's just outside Boulder.

I think loveland and a basin are maybe 75 or so

Change of plans. Girlfriend wants NC. I'll get a day of skiing in (hopefully) on some man made snow. I'll enjoy this thread from afar. Carry on.

The ONLY day I've ski'd out east was in Boone, NC when I was home for college one Christmas break. We decide to drive up to NC for some skiing...and it dumps a foot of snow on us. We were skiing some deep, slushy pow!

Is it bad that I'm at work watching The Fourth Phase on youtube?

Yeah I've skied that area three times...never was as lucky as you. It'll have to do this year.

Beautiful day to stand in a 30 minute lift line

Not worth it until mid to late November to me personally, but to each their own or whatever. Forgive me for being lazy if this was already mentioned but what pass are you baws rocking this year and when are we doing a slope style TDGT?
Posted on 10/14/17 at 8:01 am to Cosmo
shite. The picture of the lift line I saw looked like an hour plus for the 30 second run down the white ribbon of death.

I have never been skiing before, but a big group of people I know is heading up to Colorado this winter.
What's the best way to get a flight?
Once you land in Denver, what's the best way to get from there to the resort (uber, taxi, shuttle, rent a car?)
What kind of clothing do I need?
What's the least expensive option to still be comfortable outside?
Would water/wind proof pants over sweatpants and/or thermals with water-proof steel-toes work or just look idiotic?

Southwest MSY -> DEN
Delta BTR -> DEN

Gonna have to rent a car or pay for a shared shuttle (cheaper)

Water resistant/proof shell jacket and pants. Layer underneath. It's not as cold as you think.
Buy a columbia or north face outer shell jacket and pants combo. They can be had pretty cheap online if you hunt for sales. Just layer whatever fleece/shirts and some thermal bottoms underneath. Get you a nice pair of merino wool socks (don't double up on socks, your feet will sweat and then freeze and hurt)

I mean you could spray that waterproofing shite from walmart on a pair of jeans, but then you'd be pretty fricking trashy

steel toes? to ski in? You have to rent boots. For walking around, shite I use tennis shoes 99% of the time

Just booked the room for Beaver Creek in late February. Man lift tickets have gone up in the 3 years since I've been. Is it worth skiing Vail for 1 of the 3 days? I've never been to Vail, and it's by 2nd time at BC.
