17yr old girl died hitting a tree on Forget Me Not in Parsenn Bowl at Winter Park today

ETA: that's 4 inbounds deaths in CO this season so far.

I have skied that before. Scary to know how much that happens in seemingly moderate areas.

I was starting to get worried about bamafan but they released names and it is not him

Since spring hit Colorado a bit early this year and the snowfall has been weak as hell lately I am heading to Jackson tomorrow for the first time

I seriously hate hearing stuff like this.
I wonder if she had on a helmet?
I never wore one growing up but won't ride trees without one now.

Tahoe about to get blasted again...supposed to go Monday if the roads are still open.

I'll be there tomorrow thru Monday. Should be just fine according to the weather reports I'm seeing.

She did have a helmet, but usually that doesn't matter when you hit a tree trunk.

I'm heading up to the Breck cabin this evening after work, ski tomorrow, then GTFO and come back down to Denver tomorrow. I want ZERO part of the holiday weekend + Epic Local pass blackout at Vail and Beav this weekend. Crowds and lines will be insane (insert NOPE gif here).

Looking forward to enjoying the nice weather down here over the weekend and hitting some patios.

Headed to Crested Butte on Saturday for a week and got disappointed earlier this weeks when the models showed the storm splitting and Colorado barely getting anything this weekend. Praying the second storm hits late next week for at least 1 powder day but it's starting to look like CO will miss the good stuff again.

Ski'd Keystone today and found surprisingly nice snow in North Bowl for a few laps. You can find good stuff around 11:30-2:30 before it turns to complete mush.

Miracle March baby. Miracle March! Gotta believe.

I've got a week in Winter Park the last week of March so I'm with you on the Miracle March, haha.

Fingers crossed. It hasn't been great lately. I've been climbing more in Boulder Canyon and Eldo than riding with the early spring weather

I'm up in Winter Park this week. Skiied the same run that day. The local news up here reported she did not have a helmet.

First time skiing in 5 years and 99/100 people up here are wearing helmets. Was not the case 5 years ago. Not even close.

I wear a helmet pretty much everyday. It's not just you, but everyone else on the mountain you gotta worry about.

Not to mention, it's just easier to wear a helmet IMO. Goggles work so much better with a helmet than a beanie. Keeps my head warmer than a beanie.

You can get a pretty decent helmet for cheap too. Don't have to use the rental ones. You can buy your own for about the same price of 4-5 days of renting a helmet.

I have enough scratches on my helmet to justify wearing one.

I rode for ten plus years without one and thinking back, I was foolish.

I took a whipper in Jackson Hole a few weeks ago that cranked the back of my head into the mountain so hard that my helmet came off. Luckily, no yard sale.

Helmet was unbuckled at the time but nonetheless, I immediately realized that I rode away from a definite concussion.

Never wore a helmet until we went to Whistler Blackomb 4-5 years ago and haven't stopped wearing them since.

Skiing Sunshine in Banff Friday. It'll be my first time wearing a helmet.
Luckily their latitude and the current jet stream will keep us cold. Quite cold.

Headed to steamboat next saturday. Hoping for powder but not optomistic. Last 5 or so trips have all been sunshine. Bad luck i guess. I remember as a kid skiing in powder every trip.

Beaver Creek and some others got dumped on. Steamboat did not.

I finally figured out the skis I wanna buy for my daily drivers. Just gotta find them for sale now. Blizzard Peacemakers. They are exactly what I want and need.

You coming up for Wondergrass?
