Youtube hover issue

Not sure how to even ask this, but something has changed for me with Youtube on Chrome. I used to be able to hover my curser on whatever the play line is called and see a small version of what is going on at that point in the video. Starting some time this week, I can hover to move to that spot, but I cannot see what is playing there. Was this a change by them or did I accidentally change a setting?

I thought the uploader added those manually. I don't usually see them on the videos I watch.

No idea, but I watch videos from the same people pretty often and now this feature is gone for me across the board.

FreeTube still has the preview on the slider.

You Tube on Linux is still showing the preview for me.
Edited to add that I am using Firefox.

likely browser specific - Chrome and Firefox no longer show the progress bar when hovering over a video w/o actually opening it, but it still works as before in Brave

It was working just a bit ago and is now gone again. This is really weird.

Restarted my computer, and now it's back. Yay.

I've not been able to 2x speed by holding down the left mouse button lately. It shows 2x in the window but goes regular speed.

Dogbert tech support is right again: “Shut up and reboot.”
