Cutting the cord with DirecTV, will be using PS Vue, Netflix, and Amazon Prime for streaming. The options for Internet is Up to 60 mbps, and the next is up to 150 mbps. I don’t do any gaming. Will just be streaming movies, tv shows, and music. Can anyone give me some guidance? Thanks

If it’s just you then 60 should be plenty

How many people live with you?

60 should be plenty. Start at 60 and if it's not working for you bump up to 150. Comcast will increase or decrease Internet speed at no additional charge.

60 should be enough, but if you have ANY other options, I highly recommend that. I pay for 150Mbps for my small business and have issues constantly. In addition, my speeds rarely get above 30 Mbps. Have had multiple technicians out and one of them finally found a potential issue, but couldn't actually locate it so basically it was "this may be the issue, but can't locate it so good luck!"

This was my concern. The fact that the plan is “up to 60mbps” and “up to 150...” makes it sound like that won’t really be the case.

I have xfinity internet and originally signed up for the 20 mbps plan. The plan at some point bumped up to 60 mbps with no price increase or action on my part. I consistently get 55-65 mbps speeds and an outage rarely occurs.

I usually get around 60 on Xfinity. Just ran a test and got 72.

We stream plenty of Netflix, every LSU basebball game not on regular TV, Spotify, etc. and usually have phones and tablets surfing too. I've never felt like I had any need for more.

I just got Xfinity after ATT said it would take 3 weeks to get someone out to transfer my service to a new address. They say I get 150 mbps but when I've tested, its only around 40.

I haven't had any issues yet but may call and see if they can do something about it.

ETA: Im also renting a modem from them b/c they said the one I had was not compatible. Can anyone recommend a decent Modem that would be compatible?
