Wyze Cam Pan
I have the regular Wyze cam and always wished it moved to keep track of the dog in the house. This seems like a pretty good update to its existing camera and for only $30, why the hell not.

Looks good. How does the two way audio do for you on your regular Wyze cam?

how do these hold up out doors if they are covered under a patio?

I've got 2 of the regular cams and they are awesome. Definitely ordering these.

I was looking at these yesterday, but noticed some comments about privacy concerns with how the video streams are being handled. I didn’t research it enough, but wondering if anybody else had any insight.

Man, these have pretty good reviews. I have been torn between getting additional nest cams or converting to Arlo or Blink.

As for outdoor, i have been very happy with my Nest cams and I like the overall platform and ecosystem. It's more expensive but I enjoy it enough to spend the money when I have it.

That is correct. We got an Infant Optics DXR-8 to serve as our actual monitor. I've been exploring cameras because we hope to have a nanny when my wife goes back to work in August. I really just want them for a little bit of liability coverage and to also make sure said nanny isn't some crazy with the baby. I already have a Nest in the Dog Lair, but a) they're really expensive to add several more b) the subscription services are expensive too. The Wyze having add-on memory is a HUGE plus.

I might just get one outdoor nest for the backyard and a Nest Hello for the front. That would give me total coverage and I wouldn't need a subscription for the inside stuff; which is what I would likely need to review if I ever had to. I hate having two platforms, but with push notifications I guess each is just a tap away.

quote:move the nest to the area where the nanny will be and put a Wyze in the dog area. I would assume your child is more important than the dog but when that damn things starts crying and being a real a-hole, you may reconsider that thought...

quote:Nest offers $5/month and any add on camera is $3/month, all for 5 day video storage. So theoretically, with 3 cameras having 5 day storage, you're in it for $11/month. not ideal, but i don't mind it for me personally.

but yes, being able to put an SD card in the Wyze camera really makes it much more valuable for historical purposes like the nanny or if your dog decides to shred everything in its room, at least you can enjoy the footage.

Just ordered three of these. Thanks for the heads up. Ive been looking for some cameras to put around the house for a decent price. These seem to fit all of my needs.

We bought a dropcam (now nest) 3 years ago as a baby monitor, our biggest complaint is the stability of the app and it staying on all night. It is a total crap shoot if the app for the current iOS version if it will stay on all night, on 10 it would be there hasn't been a version on 11 that will stay on all night. Not the end of the world now that he is older, but for baby #2 we are looking at other options.
Any similar experiences/feedback for Wyze's app?

Just got an email from IFFTTT today about Wyze and their connection. Somehow I never heard of this camera. For $30 what am I missing? This sounds like a too good to be true. I have Arlo Pro outside and wanted something inside but didn't feel like spending $100+ or more for a camera. I was close to getting the Amazon Cloud cam on Prime Day for $60 but just didn't pull the trigger.
Negatives?

No negatives yet. Very impressed with the app and cams. It's even picked up a few orbs around 3-4 am in night mode.

Works flawlessly! (somewhat)
The only thing to look out for is the live feed when you're away from home. Everything else was really smooth. Really good picture quality, local storage and NO cloud storage fees, $30?! Yeah, this camera shits on Nest/Arlo due to the value you get.

With pets at home, I like how you can set the motion zones. (Above the floor or couch) Otherwise they'd trigger the motion all day. I heard they're working on an outside cam.

think im gonna order 3. if they suck, it's only $100, big deal.
seems like yall are enjoying them though

Yeah, you'll be amazed by how simple it was to setup and how good the quality of the feed is. I'll definitely buy outdoor cams if they come out.
