For the last month +/- I’ve had to unplug my wireless router because there was no WiFi connection. This fixes the problem for about a day. Is it time to toss it and buy another one or is there something else that I should try?

If it’s time to buy another, I’ll gladly take recommendations

You could try a factory reset and/or updating the firmware. Unfortunately, consumer routers are not designed to last very long, so if that doesn't help you have several options:

1. Upgrade to one of the mesh wifi systems that are popular. You cannot beat the coverage, but they can be pricey.

2. Get a new standard wifi router. Either get a cheap one and expect to replace in a few years, or get one in the $150+ range that will give better coverage and possibly last longer.

3. (What I usually do) It's often just the wifi that stops working on routers, so wired connections and all other functions keep working. I like to disable the router's wifi, and get a Ubiquiti access point for wifi (it plugs into one of your router's ports). They're about $80 and have much better range than just about any consumer router.

You could spend $4-5 on an electrical outlet timer and set it to reboot a couple of times a day when your not home

Thanks for the replies. I actually have three ubiquti APs. I just spoke with my AV guy and it turns out that my WiFi is disabled at the router. The WiFi broadcasts through the APs. He says that the router must be going out if this is happening and suggested that I get a new one

Have you recently installed any wireless cameras? I had a similar thing happen after installing some Amcrest security cameras. It turned out that the DNS for the router was being overwritten by the blank DNS from the cameras.

I installed Ring cameras about a year ago. The connection problem just started a few weeks ago
