Lenovo Thinkpad 13
Dell Inspiron 13
Bonus if you can suggest another in this category that's in the same price range.

Absolutely get that Dell over that Lenovo. Then replace the hard drive in the Dell with a solid state drive.

Search this:
"Dell Inspiron 15 5567 Laptop, 15.6in. Screen, Intel Core i5, 8GB Memory, 1TB Hard Drive, Windows 10"
It is an i5 with 8gb of RAM for ~the same as the thinkpad

I'm thinking about the "Why not both?" gif, but I'm too lazy to post it. Probably shouldn't have bothered posting this, but hey, jsffa@jlk. Personally, I would see what deals they be offering of HSN or QVC.

Mac
Anything they make
Better than those choices
Serious answer.
The Mac is worth a little extra money. I have the cheapest thing Mac made back in 2009 and it's still going strong. Mac's are cheaper over the lifespan of the item. Could never get a regular IBM type laptop to last 8 years like my Mac has.

Or get a MacBook Air that comes with SSD and pay less.

I'm no computer expert at all, but did just purchase for my wife an did a little research. That Dell has an i3 processor compared to an i5 in the Lenovo. Also, looks like the Dell only has 4 GB memory compared to 16 GB in the Lenovo. Why would the Dell be better? The price?
Computer I just got is an GO with i7, 8 GB, 1 TB at $550. I might have gotten the Lenavo over that at $500.

I’m not the best at math, but I believe $999 is greater than $375...
