Just Best Buy? Are the att stores going to carry them? TIA.
eta: Am I right that all of the pixels can connect to any network? Could I pay full price for a verizon phone (only one in stock at BB), put a att sim in it and be good to go?

I like brainstorming with you imaginary peeps.

Usually, the word exclusive means "restricted or limited to." In this case, Verizon is the exclusive carrier selling the phone -- meaning, you can't buy one at an AT&T or Sprint store. However, you can buy a Pixel online through Verizon or the Google Store and use it on any major carrier. Just slap in another carrier's SIM card and you're good to go.

So if you do that, does the software updates come from Verizon or Google? I know the Verizon phones are suppose to be getting their updates from Verizon.

I think there has been some confusion on this ...
From my understanding, Pixel XL purchased from Verizon may have Verizon's bloatware, although I have seen some reports that no bloatware is installed by Verizon (this typically happens with other phone manufacturers).
Software updates, however, should come through Verizon and may be delayed when compared to buying directly from Google.
If this is wrong, someone please correct me.

I've seen both stated so i really dont know which is true.

Believe i read its only 3 verizon apps that come pre-installed and you have the ability to uninstall them.
Personally i'd be cautious and not risk it. I'd get it directly from the google store if i was in the market.

From someone who bought the Samsung Verizon Galaxy Nexus from Verizon I agree with this x1000. I'll never buy a phone from Verizon ever again. That update experience(or I should say non update experience) was horrible. They got 4 to 5 updates behind and then just said F it.

The Pixel is a different line and meant to compete with iPhone.. I imagine Google will keep pressure on Verizon to stay fairly updated.
