On swappa, just make sure you buy from someone that sells regularly and not some scrub.

Much better luck getting a good used one vs one that had been refurbed. We did the free Iphone refurbs with our son and they just didn't last, got one from a family member and it has been going good for a couple years now. We rarely update our phones, but we have 12's now. Our previous were 7's. Our son has an SE that looks like a 6/7/8.

I'm in the market for a used iPhone right now and saw refurbished 8s with 64gb for $189 on Amazon. They're guaranteed to have gone through a thorough inspection and to have 80% battery life or more, backed by a 30 day money backed guarantee.

Haven't looked into swappa yet. I'm hesitant though because I don't think you get the same guarantees and return policy. It's just individual sellers on there as far as I know. Anyone know if that's correct?

Gotten several for myself and family. Unlocked refurbished/renewed straight from Samsung or Amazon (8 now). Only one issue replacement phone sent (was CDMA vs GSM) . All looked mint and never in operational issues.

My previous 3 phones have come from swappa. The last one had screen burn and the seller promptly sent me a brand new phone after I notified them. Every one still works; I break phones a lot, that's why I dont buy new.

I will never buy a "refurbished" phone from Amazon or ebay again.

I've bought my last two Androids from Amazon. No issues beyond some original accessories missing.

Only bought one, paid a little more through Amazon, but that came with a 30 day no questions return policy.
