CPU and GPU described as "semi-customized". Bit disappointed at the near-Apple pricing.

CPU
Semi-custom AMD Zen 4 6C / 12T
Up to 4.8 GHz, 30W TDP

GPU
Semi-Custom AMD RDNA3 28CUs
2.45GHz max sustained clock, 110W TDP

RAM
16GB DDR5 + 8GB GDDR6 VRAM

Power
Internal power supply, AC power 110-240V

Storage
512GB NVMe SSD or 2TB NVMe SSD

Both models include a high-speed microSD card slot

quote:

The system will officially cost $1,049 for its 512GB version without a Steam Controller and it launches on June 30. From there, the price increases to $1,349 for the 2TB model without a controller, and $1,428 with a controller. Preorders will open up on June 25, but you can join a waitlist now to be eligible for an opportunity to preorder one.

Fairly compact setup, though.

From the article linked within the story:

quote:

Analysts have predicted a price between $400-$500, saying that the lower end of that range would be the “sweet spot” that would put pressure on the likes of Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X.

If they were only $400, people would buy them and rip out the memory and GPU for other purposes.

That was probably before RAM and SSD prices skyrocketed

The article is from February 2026 I believe. Didn't the major spike happen last year?

They will sell out the 10,000-15,000 units they already have and that will be it.
Their entire business model is based upon incels maxxing out his momma’s data plan to play on their servers.
