Has anyone installed any? Are they all created equal? Any features I should watch out for, pertaining to capacity or functionality with various devices?

I try to always stick with Square D or Leviton for anything power in the house.

Hubbell makes a good one as well. I have some in the house.
Don't buy cheap outlets off Amazon. Stick with a well known brand when it comes to electrical devices.

I installed one of these last year, no problems so far and works great. If you want fast charging, make sure it supports the Power Delivery/PD spec.

I’ve installed similar (got mine from Lowes). It charges iPhone quite quickly, but I find the touch screen gets really sensitive while plugged in.

quote:Just basic USB-C might support 5V, 3A - 15W. The main benefit to USB-C, in my opinion, is the Power Delivery protocol (PD). The basic USB-C PD can provide up to 100W using a solution based on 20V using USB Type-C cables rated at 5A. Newer PD can reach 240W.

Yeah, I suppose my interest is from the increased wattage potential. Do you know of available receptacles capable of those wattages?
