My wife bought me a dual monitor extension for my laptop. I have enough ports but they do not support video. Can these be upgraded or am I stuck? TIA

How old is your laptop? What type of USB ports do you have? Tell us what your wife bought you.
ETA: I think you will need a USB-3.0 or USB-C port to do what you want to do.

Most connectivity ports in a laptop are going to be soldered onto the motherboard and aren’t (reasonably) upgradable, even if your CPU could otherwise handle it. Nothing keeping you from popping it open and taking a look, though.

Does your computer have a hdmi or display port output?

Are you sure that USB-C port isn't a thunderbolt port? I think AMD doesn't always use thunderbolt but can do video over USB-C as well.

The chart that everyone needs to know...

My ports do not process video. It needs to be a full function USB port to do so.
Link us to your device? I have a hard time believing that a relatively new laptop has zero display capable USB/display ports.

Kinda where I am.
ETA: He may not have adequate power capabilities or enough ports of the right type. Below is an image from the link he sent with min requirements.

Does it also have an HDMI port because you will need one for that device with only 1 USB-C on your machine.

You'll need your power cord attached to run the two extra monitors. We are using these for traveling exec's and certain laptops need their power cords connected to make it work.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I am sorry for the delayed response; I have been on the road working and not checking the internet.
With your input I have found out this computer does not support video.
The laptop is a HP Laptop 17-cp2033dx.
Best Buy has indicated they can upgrade my ports. I guess I will see if that is the case.
