I do not need a bunch of smart TV functionality nor do I need incredible audio (have sound system). This won't be my main TV which is in my den, but the wall space it is going on in our bonus room will look silly if smaller than 65".
There is a good bit of light from several windows, I'm sure that matters.
Open to any suggestion.
I've looked at B&H Photo and found a couple I think look ok, but would love to know what the pitfalls of each are:
Comparison on B&H Photo

Or maybe I can go $1,000 for this QLED that looks badass?
That is really getting above what I wanted to spend here, considering it isn't our primary television.

TCL Series 6 65" was $499 at Costco last week. You might see if they still have any left in stock since you live here. Pay w/ costco credit card and you can return it for 4 years if anything goes wrong for 100% money back.
If you say "I don't have a costco membership" you might consider what one costs after you just saved $250 on the same TV elsewhere.
The best buy for $250 more is the same model minus remote w/ voice control and RF. You want the RF and voice on the remote.
Best deal you'll come across this year.

The Vizio M series or the TLC 6 series. Most will say the TLC, but the Vizio plays better with the Google/Nest/Alexa/Airplay etc products and its easier to mirror screens and cast content.
I'm not a fan of roku on the TLC.

Its TCL not TLC but...
- chromecasting sucks. google made that product unusable and this is from someone who had 6 of them at one time.
- alexa works great w/ the roku. you can use your voice to pause/unpause shows or turn the tv on or ff
- tcl supports local dimming which vizio can't even come close to touching as well as dolbyvision and atmos.
- roku ux is far superior to firetv or crappy chromecast.
- i have a 65" Vizio which i hate with the heat of 1000 suns. it takes like 45 seconds to 'boot up' whereas the TCL roku takes less than 5. also the smart apps are damn near useless so you have to spend more money on a roku or a chromecast or a firetv or something where you get the roku FREE w/ the TCL.

At that price point I think they are mostly the same.

But know this, TCL is a Chinese stated owned business: LINK
And China flagrantly lied about the impact of Covid-19 and allowed the virus to be spread throughout the world by its infected citizens.

That's def the 6 series but more than likely the 2018 model. It has to be. They still sell that model at a high demand.

i've been seeing 75" tvs in walmart & targets for like $600 but outside of TCL i have no idea if these are shite or not so i didn't bother looking at the details.
its blowing my mind you can buy a 75" HDTV for well under $1000 these days.
75" is definitely my next purchase. No way i'd consider anything smaller given those prices.

I think TV size is reaching a point of diminished returns. I don't need or want something that big unless I have a theater room.
65" TV is just fine for me that's about the perfect size above a fireplace.

Yep, we have a decent size living room but we are sitting about 8ft from the TV. We currently have a 55" which is fine but when this one dies we will probably move up to a 65".

It’s not the same tv. It’s a lesser model

I've heard a lot of people say they have a certain TV size, and it is perfect for them. However, I can't say I've ever heard someone say the TV they have is too big.

Those words have never been uttered. I always tell people, whatever size you think you want, get the next size bigger.
