We are building a new house and were getting pricing on a speaker system for TV and music. The pricing for this has been higher than I anticipated and was wondering should we just go wireless and install ourselves? If so, what are any recommendations?
On the TV side, should we run cable? We cut the cable this past year and haven’t missed it. Should we still run cable wire to the TV’s or are there other/better options?

Have them run the speaker wire and give them speakers to install. The rest you can do yourself.

Run ethernet to the TV outside.

Run coax to the TVs still for antenna TV at least.

A guy gutted the house next to us and one of the things he did was build subwoofers into the floor of nearly every room.

I can understand the walls, but not the floors.

If you're building a new house, why not run all the cables when the walls are open, just in case you might need them at some point?

monoprice is selling cat7 cables for cheap these days!

Drop this bitch into every room of your house.

think this would handle your home networking infrastructure for the next 5-10 years.

1000FT Cat7 1000MHz S/FTP Solid, 23AWG, Bulk Bare Copper Network Cable, 10G, Black $340
