And I believe that the normal user under real world circumstances will see no difference betwen 4GB and 6GB unless the phone itself runs things that would warrant the extra internal memory....like the Note series.

Maybe not in 2018. What about in 2019, or 2020?

Best iPhone alternate IMO. I don't buy new phones anymore but I wouldn't mind switching a few years from now.

I'm on the original Pixel XL and honestly nothing released since this phone is very compelling to me. I strongly prefer stock Android and don't care for iOS at all so I'll probably just hang on to this one for awhile.

i'm still using the Nexus 6P and it's great for what I use it for other than having a shite battery these days

This phone looks so meh it's unbelievable. It's pretty much a pixel 2 with slightly better stuff.

i really was intrigued by the pixel 2, possibly XL, but it was too expensive. i may wait for prices to crater after the 3 gets released to get one

Yep I had the 6P and when that offer to get a XL for free if you messaged support over a battery issue appeared I took advantage of it. I've lately started looking for a new phone I was hoping the new Pixels would be something to grab but I dont think they did enough to impress me

I know the companies want it, but who on Earth is cycling phones every 12 months? Geez, Louise.
Mrs. Midnight and I are rocking ~4 year old Motorolas. Working fairly well, but getting long in the tooth and the battery issues eventually drive a replacement. We are going with Pixel 3s and will probably look to replace in 3 to 4 years.
Seriously, who is cycling phones every year? I get you get a trade in, but that seems weak sauce to get another $1000 to $1200 out of you.

More and more reviews are coming out saying that the camera, AI, and build quality make the notch and other design quirkiness a moot point.
Many people are saying that after using the phone for mere hours the notch basically disappears.

Does the headphone jack reappear after a few hours also?

You realize USB-C is better for audio quality.
Not to mention the fact that bluetooth made head phone jacks obsolete years ago on cell phones....that is a pretty minor thing to gripe about.
But hey....you can continue to live in 2015 that's cool.

USB-C audio has been an absolute disaster so far

How is a headphone jack obsolete? Because phone companies are trying to force unreliable bullshite on you? Bluetooth will never surpass the audio quality of a tried and true industry standard. I'm sure there will be a time in the future that something better comes along and the headphone jack is obsolete but this is not the time. Phone companies have completely jumped the gun.

As a consumer, I prefer to have as many options at my disposal as possible

All three of the Pixel's have had mediocre and lazy designs.

I rarely use the speakers on my phone. Very, very rarely. Front facing speakers means nothing to me, and I'd argue that's be the case for the majority.
I used to not care about speakers until I had the HTC One M7 (with Bass by Beats). It sounded absolutely incredible, and ever since then, I won't get a phone that doesn't have front-facing, stereo.

Do you have the 2 or the 2XL? The front of the 2 had gigantic bezels for no reason like the original Pixel which didn't match the design of the 2XL. In any Google advertisement, they only showed the 2XL.

I mean, there are speakers there. Also, question: if they kept the width the same and just extended the screen to occupy most of where the bezels are...what aspect ratio would that be?
