Thinking of ditching my android watch for a fitbit

thoughts? costco black friday will have the versa2 for $130 and its got 24/7 heart rate (my current watch *barely* does HR to the point its unusable) and like 5-6 days of battery life.
the sleep stuff & built-in alexa i don't really care about, but i'm starting to become a real fan of the fitness aspects of newer watches.
background: i was an amateur bike racer for several years so was a big fan of garmin, polar HR monitors and power meters. however the world has changed DRAMATICALLY since i quit training and i have no idea what the bet fitness tool is these days.
also i am not sure how well it integrates with android phones. right now one of my favorite features is having my watch silence my phone and getting notifications.

Google just bought Fitbit for 2.1 billion so I'd say it'll continue to talk with Google products better and better as they integrate it in their ecosystem.

Love my Charge 3, especially the sleep thing.

it depends on if you want a smart watch or a fitness watch. Fit bit is great with fitness but it isnt a "smart watch"

I would argue my Android Wear watch isn't either.
I barely use it for anything beyond notifications these days.. It's just too slow

well thats basically what a smart watch is.
IDK what you have but my Ticwatch Pro has been decent. Lagy at times. I mean the articles always say how great the apple watch is compared to android watches and i have witnessed the same laginess on those than i have. so IMO i just think the tech isnt there yet.

Any watch that claims to support sleep data is useless if battery can't last a week. Just my opinion. My LG urbane can make it 2 almost 2 days but if I forget to charge it nightly it will crap out the second day at the worst possible moment.
I used to enjoy telling watch to make calls and select music with my voice but the updates made it so slow I have up on that a year or more ago.
Thanks for breaking a feature that worked great Google and not giving me anything new.

How can you sleep with it and charge at same time? I assume that’s what he means

Yeah I got the Active 2 a few weeks back and love it for the fitness stuff.

Charge it before you go to bed. Unless you are a pro athlete, you should have plenty of “non active” time to charge a watch during your day.

Because it's a pita to charge it every single day and not forget to put it back on when you go to sleep or forget to charge it and have it die during the night. I'd rather have the flexibility to charge it once or twice a week and not have to constantly worry about battery life.

I really don't know how long mine lasts. It's longer than a day, less than a week. I just hook it up for a bit when doing stuff around the house. Takes very little time to fully charge.

Who really needs freaking sleep data? That's a complete gimmick.
Not to mention you have to sleep with a watch on. Yuck.

It is very fast charging. I normally only charge mine while I'm in the shower and that is plenty to keep it topped up.

What?
that you dont feel the pain because your watch makes it 3+ days before you have to charge.
