Seems like the traditional methods they have in their help are going to be useless. They also said they would be releasing unused names about a year ago and still have not done so.

I had an old twitter attached to a defunct email.... I finally remembered my password but after 1 tweet it suspended my account unless i verified my email which no longer exists.

It was for an organization that looks like it was a bunch of college aged kids that were going to do some political activism... but they tweeted like 7 times in before 2010 and nothing since.
