I had a similar thread on this but need more advice. There’s nothing wrong with my iPhone 14 just want something new. Bigger and better screen and a little bit faster.

Purchase decisions like this are more personal than practical.
If you think the S24+ will make you happy, then get that.
I'd wait, but I also have a 5 year old phone and am totally content. In general, I recommend only upgrading when you need to upgrade.

Smartphones are simply an adult toy.

For some people they are. I treat mine as an appliance. If you want a toy, then get an Asus Rog gamer phone. They have all kinds of extra features.

Do you own other Apple products? Laptop, Watch etc.?

Android can be a pain in the arse, stick with apple. This whole premise of modding your phone is overrated.

Of course. iPhone glory days are well behind it.

So silly but made me giggle. Whiskey over ice wanted to stoke the flames a bit.

weak args, everything uses usb-c for charging nowadays. having your phone on the same cable is a plus not a drawback. having to get an apple specific charger is the antipattern. but even they have switched to usb-c. and the learning curve for iOS or Android isn't exactly Everest.

Pretty much everything at apple uses USB-C now, Euros made it happen.
