I got a 55inch Q80R during Black Friday this past year for $1200ish.

Made a great replacement to the 49inch we had in our living room. However 55inch in our space is about maximum.

Great TV has some advantages and disadvantages compared to the LG B9 in our bedroom.

If they have an open box Q80R by you I would swing for that, they where about that price when I was looking.

I just purchased a 65 LG C9 open box for $1300, you can snag some damn good prices right now if you look a little. I went in originally wanting the Q70R.

Oh that’s still a great price, it’s also a better TV than the newer model Q70T so you’re not missing out on anything.

Returned the one I got, dirty screen effect was very noticeable with sports (which I watch a lot of). Didn’t feel like playing the panel lottery so I went with a Sony X900F

The Sony’s grey uniformity is noticeably better and the screen is better with reflections (q70 had little more of a matte finish). I’m aware that not all panels would have the same uniformity issues. I could have just gotten one of the bad ones, but I have read where that’s a common issue with Samsung’s full array panels

The q70 did have better local dimming as the Sony has more blooming

With all that said, I still think the ks8000 is better than both. Have the 55” and was moving up to a 65”

Bought two. Would buy more if the bathrooms had more open wall space.

It's an excellent TV, I almost pulled the trigger on it back in the spring but went with the Q80R instead. The only reason I went with the Q80R, over the Q70R, is because the reviews said it handles glare better (few feet from a large window) and the Q80R has a better picture from the sides (living area is narrow but wide).

I would avoid just because it doesn't do Dolby Vision.

Samsung has their own Dolby Vision called HDR10+ and now a lot of movies are using it so not such a big deal anymore.
