According to ALL the rumours the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be an absolute BEAST with 6GB of RAM, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor, a brand new high-end camera and a shed-load of new software tweaks to make the whole S-Pen stylus experience and multitasking on the big screen better than EVER.
On top of that, rumours are now consistently saying the the Galaxy Note 7 will feature a 5.8in QHD Super AMOLED EDGE display with the signature curved screen edges seen on the Galaxy S7 edge. Unlike the Galaxy S7 series, however, this will be the sole model rather than having two variants.
Other rumours point to new software for S-Pen, a potential 500+ GB of storage with a microSD card, a complete redesign of the chassis, market-leading 10nm memory and a bunch more besides. Samsung will want to hit the ground running with the Galaxy Note 7, as it is the company’s last line of defence against Apple’s iPhone 7.
Basically, Samsung is gearing up for a MEGA launch. It knows Apple will likely return with an incremental iPhone 7 update, so it is preparing to drop something incredibly impressive that will convince millions of floating voters over to its new line of Note devices.

So it's the 820 officially? Disappointing if the phone is really going to cost $900US

Yep, looks like the new Nexus phones will be the first and maybe only phone to have the 821 this year.

How about the rumored Google-branded phones? What hardware will they be packing? Are they going to be premium phones or mid-range?

I haven't seen that rumor in quite some time, too late in the year for that now too, will have their Nexus line and that will be it.

Nice specs but I'm not a fan of the curved screen edges; I like to put a tempered glass screen protector over my screen.

So are jumping from the Note 5 to the Note 7?

can't believe they do all of these theatrics to unveil a phone. This shite is completely over the top

It's still a Samsung.
Can't speak for the previous models, but the Galaxy S7 is a great device.

Wireless charging?
Removable battery?
Removable battery?

Removable batteries are becoming more of a rarity unfortunately. The Note is basically a larger S7 Edge, so yeah it has quick wireless charging.
I'm now looking forward to the Nexus reveal later this year.

it's pretty much the S7/S7 Edge with an S-Pen. Only extra feature of note is the iris scanner

This. I'm excited to get one next month, but the hardware is less than I was expecting. If nothing else it will be a drastic improvement over my Note4.

From what I read earlier today (after reading this thread), HTC Nexus phone is scheduled to be released in October.
