Actually went to Best Buy and checked out the Sony X900F and it has a really great picture I thought. Would have to go 75 instead of 85 but the picture seemed better and it seems to be recommended a ton on all of the review/comparison sites as well as a couple of times in this thread.

Have you seen any of the 2019 Sammy's in person yet with that new anti reflective coating that is supposed to be super good?

Buddy has one. I am so jealous. It's amazing a TV that large has a near flawless picture.

Does anyone know if This is the highly rated “quantum” TV that is so highly regarded in the Rtings “best TVs of 2018” video?
Or is that a lower quality model?

Thought so but wanted to confirm, thanks.
I didn’t know the 65” was the biggest.
It’s looking more and more like I’m going to go with the 75” Sony X900F.

I had a post about this earlier in this thread. In 2019 (should be very soon now) Vizio is going from just one P Series quantum (the 65" was the ONLY quantum tv size and model in 2018) to three full different models of P Series Quantum that will go up to 75".
I really think they will have a 75" around the $2k mark when they come out.

Any idea when the release should be?

I haven't seen anything but let me do some quick searching.

No official release dates to be found anywhere. Everything just says "spring 2019."
One interesting tidbit though is that the new 2019 model "V series" has been released and is on sale already. This was just a renamed E series but it is still a 2019 model.
It should be any time now. Maybe they are creating a surplus before release due to expected high initial demand? I can dream. I'm personally holding out on making my TV choice until these are released.
If they can't provide a 75" Quantum for around $2k, I'll be likely getting the new 2019 M Series. It was a highly rated TV in 2018 and was labeled as the plain "P series" and gets a few improvement. The 75" P series are currently going for around $1700 I think.

The current P Quantum 65" is $1,700. I find it hard to believe that a newer model, in 75", would be only $300ish extra??
I guess I'll take your word for it.

I'm just guessing but the current 65" P Quantum is currently under $1500, not 1700.
The reason I think one will be near $2k is because Vizio isn't doing just the P Series quantum in 65" with a new 75" size. There will be 2 (i was wrong when I said 3 earlier) different lineups of P Quantum TVs. There will be P Series Quantum and Quantum X. The 2 different models will have varying features with the two key main differences is the varying HDR brightness (low end model will be 1000 nits and the high end will be 2900+ nits) and the other being local dimming zones. I think the high end will have over 480 local dimming zones and the low end will be around 240.
As you can see, due to these variances one is going to be more budget targeted. The 65" will be near $1200 soon if trending continues. This leaves plenty of room to get a 75" around $2k.

Hm well great. I guess I have a decision on whether to just scoop up the Sony X900F now for $2,700 or wait on the newer Vizio Quantums and scoop one of those. (Honestly I don't even need the newer Quantums to be $2,000, anything under $2,700 would be ok since I'm willing to pay $2,700 for the current X900F anyway)
Do you think the current Quantum is significantly better than the current X900F? If so then the newer Quantum would obviously be even BETTER than the Sony and worth waiting a month or 2 for.

If the budget isn't that big of a factor for you the X900F is a great pick. I don't think the Vizio would be "better." It would just also be great at a lower price point.
The Sony also has a better OS (android) than Vizio with much more native apps to pick from. The Vizio also doesn't have quite as good as judder/stutter performance as the Sony X900F.
I think the only reason someone would like a vizio Quantum better other than price is the slightly better brightness than the Sony.

I would just go grab an X900F.
Posted on 4/3/19 at 9:55 pm to TigerWise
I mean if the new Quantum is as good or better than the 900F (it seems like it would be no? A lot of review sites have the CURRENT quantum rates higher) and is also 30% cheaper, that’s hard to pass up
