Ring doorbells on sale
Ring Pro $199.99
All Ring doorbells on sale at Amazon and Home Depot.

Any advice on Ring 2 vs Pro? Is the $30 more for the Pro worth it? I have an open porch with two flags hanging off two columns 8 feet away from the doorbell. Do I need the Pro, so that I can block certain “zones” that the fags are in? Is that even possible?

Ring 2 is great if wired install is not an option or not wanted since it can operate wirelessly via battery.

Costco has the Ring 2 with Chime and 1 year of cloud recording service for $149.99 right now. LINK

I've got the Pro, and I would recommend it. You will likely need to move the flags otherwise you will get motion notifications all the time, but maybe not.

Always go pro if you can hardwire it

You don't want to record them?

I've had both and much prefer the Pro model. In addition to the customized motion zones, the Pro model simply performs better at picking up motion .

With the Ring2 in the same location ( and same wifi connection), I missed several key motion events. I installed 2 Ring 2's at family members homes and ended up returning both of them and replacing with pros. Just my experience

Just got a ring pro. Do I need the transformer or will wiring have sufficient amps?

I don't currently have any wiring so my dilemma is if I'd rather get the the Ring 2 or the Nest Hello. Im mostly Google now so if I go wired, gonna get the nest.

Anyone with experience, is it worth it to go with a wired doorbell and pay the additional cost for someone to wire it or is the battery powered Ring 2 close enough in quality for me to just go that route?
