I have a 5-6k sq foot home. I live in a rural area and recently got Starlink. I’ve purchased 4 Asus XT8 devices that will be placed at strategic locations in my attic. I plan on Ethernet connecting each one. My question is does each pod need to be connected to the main router or can each one piggy back off of the other with only the first one connecting to the main router? I know I can set them up wirelessly but I’ve tried that and my signal hasn’t been as strong.

Be careful putting them in the attic. Attic temps aren’t going to be good for electronic equipment like routers.

My attic has spray foam insulation and is 5-10 degrees higher than in my home. If that wasn’t the case, I would move them into the house.

Yes, you can daisy chain the nodes together. But if the second node in the chain dies, you lose nodes three and four as well. It's better to connect all the nodes to the main router.

Yeah I would definitely take the step to run a separate Cat 6/7 to each location if it's not prohibitive for some reason. Connect a 5 or 8 port switch off the main router to connect them.
