Is there a timeline for this? I know you hate this because of your sweet spot deal...but holy shite for 10 extra bucks a month you now have a complete cable package subscription
Posted on 4/13/16 at 6:58 pm to LSUsmartass
Yea at 10 dollars more I am probably getting back on a cable deal

If they bump it up $10 I'd still be saving $80 a month from where I was wish Direct Tv. I'd rather not pay it, but all in all, it's still a good price.
What gets me is that they will up charge for something that is already widely available for free.

You can get a deal that offers viewing on 5 TVs with DVR functionality, 70+ channels including 4 ESPNs and SEC Network for $45?

I'd gladly pay it for convenience, you're not dealing with antennas and flipping the inputs back and forth and you get your DVR functionality for the locals in one package without another table top device

I agree. Still seems like they would just throw it in though. They already offer on demand as part of the deal.
Curious to see if CBS gets on board or if they try and push CBS all access.

Between Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Now, etc., I'd hope CBS realizes very few people would pay for that shite

At this point I am getting new customer promotions, and where we live I don't get fox sports south on Vue.

Frack Cox Cable!
So cox cable is cancelling my basic cable so they can raise my bundled rate.
They talked me out of canceling basic last year by saying the bundled rate for cable, net and phone was less than internet and phone.
Then they forced folks to get the digital converter and I said no.
So, they cancelled the unusable basic cable and warned me my rates would be going up because I am no longer bundled.
Frack em! The day we get fiber will be one of the best days ever, when I can finally tell cox to F off FOREVER.

Still LOVING Vue.
Mostly watch it from my PS4, but yesterday I mounted my TV bedroom up and attached my chromecast. My SO has an iPhone so we turned on Vue and casted it to the bedroom TV.. the fact that I can just plug in my Chromecast and have TV service anywhere hit me right then and there. The UI on the iPhone isn't too bad, either.
I'm going to Denver in a week, and I'll be able to bring my Vue service with me. Mind blown. No cable provider can offer that.

I don't think you can do that
You can only use Vue for your standalone apps (watchespn, fox sports go, etc) outside of your home network

Not how it works right now. You must be in your home IP/zip code.
Unless you have a VPN setup at your home and you dial into that while you are away.

I use chromecast in my bedroom also and it works flawlessly.
Vermilion is right though. You can't bring Vue with you, but you can bring watchESPN and other standalone apps using your vue credentials. Which is still pretty awesome.

I'm with you Jj. I don't wanna pay the 10 because I have access for free with an antenna, but an extra 10 is still 70 less than I was paying DTV. $10 ain't going to make me jump off of this train

Hows your antenna working out?

Man my buddy actually had a nice one that he loaned me for now because he wasn't using it. Works well. I'll still get around to building the one like you have at some point, but its not as urgent now

Ah, damn. Too good to be true.
Could I change my home zip code while I'm away, or does it get that through my billing info or IP? I don't remember how it found that.
Getting WatchESPN and such while away is enough, anyway.

Never ever mess with this. You will have to go through a lot of bull shite to get it fixed. Simply changing out my modem caused Vue to not work at my house.

Sounds like they lock it down to whatever IP you've got, and if it changes you're hosed.

Can I DVR on Vue...shows like TWD and Talking Dead? Football games?
