I have the Vue middle package.

Question: is there a way to utilize a previous channel button?

I holding back, for now.
I don't even really want Sling, but need it for ESPN. I could use my MIL log in for it though.
I don't really need ESPN until college football starts up now.

Just ordered the fire TV and ready to make the jump.

I don't think there is a single channel I'll be missing with the middle tier. They fact that I'll be saving nearly 50 bucks a month is just insane.

Don't think so

Might just have to hit options and surf through the guide

Absolutely. The best part is that I'm saving $125/month.

I am holding off until I can have the time to really try it out on my firetv and the free trial. My drtv bill is about 250 and it drives me insane to pay it so im starting to looking more strongly into other options. I pay 56 bucks alone in just extra box fees (but my dad has 2). I just like having all the channels but there are so many unused..and the wife and kid are so used to regular TV.

Been trying it out today on my fire stick while waiting for the fire TV and I can already tell I'm not going to miss DTV. While there is some lag on the stick, it's certainly serviceable if needed. I'm watching golf right now and the picture looks just the same as it does on tv, no buffering.

The guide takes a second to get used to, but no biggie. Even on the fire stick I'm enjoying the interface of vue over DTV guide, just seems more intuitive and interactive.

I like the explore option, I just pulled up Easy Rider on demand. Looks like a lot of good on demand content as I browse through it.

So far I'm very impressed, now to teach the wife...

Update-

I received the multi-media remote for the PS4 and have been using it for a few hours between last night and today.

I have decided that I like the Fire Tv better. The PS multi media remote just has to many extra buttons and they are hard to use IMO.

Another big factor is ease of use for the wife and the inlaws when they are here.

It's gonna cost me an extra Fire TV but I will be purchasing and additional one for use in the kitchen as well.

I figure the $99 will save me thousands in pain in the arse down the road.

Do you think the remote is worth the asking price over the controller? Wife is still getting used to using a controller to navigate.

I'm not sure. The PS4 controller probably won't take long to get used to, IMO. Just tell her X is enter, Circle is back, and options is for the Guide. That's the basic 3 controls.

I enjoy the remote because I use it for my TV (Antenna channels) and Vue. It works great. But it does have a LOT of buttons and it's a pain to use in the dark. I'm starting to get a feel for the buttons, though
