Phone hacked/cloned. Please educate me

Obviously, we're going to need more data points and I'm not an expert by any stretch, but what app do you use for texting?

It may be as simple as the ex has your log in information for that app, so she is able to send (as you) and has access (as you) to your sent texts.

If you're android and log in with your Google account, maybe changing that password would be the first thing I might try. If you're using a third party app for texting, maybe switch up those passwords.

Now, if she has set up recovery information using her own accounts, you might have a bigger problem. At some point, her conduct might drift into criminal activity. I'm not saying to escalate to that level, but the mere threat of it might get her to back off.

Wipe your phone and see if she still has access. Probably a hidden app.

This is very helpful, thanks guys. I did not consider a hidden app installed on my phone. That seems the most likely culprit.

She had plenty of access to my phone at various times. I stupidly did not have a password in place back then.

Threats are not an option because I have to deal with her pretty regularly. Just need to stop it somehow.

Not sure I understand about the texting app. I just use the standard texting.. no app or login.

Then she either has a hidden app installed on your phone or she has direct access to your Google account. I'm not smart enough to think of a third option.

Because if she was merely spoofing, she could send texts as you, but she couldn't intercept texts from you. Something else is going on.

You can see in you security page of your google account where you have been logging in from.

Call the cops.

1. Change Google password
2. Wipe the phone
3. Put a password
